Ralph Gibson (1939 - )
For nearly fifty years master photographer Ralph Gibson's work has been exhibited, published and widely featured. Working mainly in black and white, exclusively in film, and with his Leica, he began his professional career learning photography in the US Navy, followed by a stint in San Francisco at the SF Art Institute, and later as an assistant to the famed photographer, Dorothea Lange. Ralph Gibson would go on to produce more than 40 monographs, receive prestigious international recognition, and become one of the 20th (and 21st) Century's great photographers.
