Background

My story begins in Texas. I was raised one of five children, in a single-parent household, where there was lots of love and not much money. Growing up, I was taught that earning a living trumped any ideas of beauty, art and life outside of Texas. Yet instinctually, I felt there was so much more. While attending the University of Texas at Austin on an academic scholarship, I happened upon a student program that allowed me to spend the summer working in London, England. At age 18, I moved to London, found a job working as a bartender in Covent Garden, and rented a small room. I worked alongside and met other young people from all over the world, who were traveling, creating art and living fascinating lives. That fateful summer changed everything for me.

Inspired, I returned to Austin, and after completing my degree a few years later, I chose to spend some time traveling. What I thought would be just a few months abroad, flowed into five years; I was hooked. I knew then (and now) that travel helps to realize the best in one's self. I fulfilled dreams, made lasting friendships and created precious memories that still inform, in many ways, all that I do.

Now, after more than ninety-five countries, countless museums, galleries and studio visits – and after fifteen years of professional experience in luxury travel and selling fine art – I have created Nevares Fine Art in the spirit of a traveler and with confidence that the international selection of artists we represent are worthy of our clientele.
